Taylor Swift is taking back her reputation and she’s possibly shading Kanye West in the process.
Ah, another day, another Taylor Swift theory.
Is it really a Taylor Swift comeback without fans convincing the world that their kween is shading Kanye? No, it really isn’t. Ever since Taylor released the album art for her sixth studio album, Reputation, Swifties have been coming up with theories left and right in regards to her upcoming music.
Their latest theory involves Taylor’s very intense artwork and surprise, surprise, Kanye West. Many Swifties believe that Tay’s whole cover is basically shading Yeezy and Kim K. How, you ask? Well, let’s first take a look at the font Taylor used for the title of her album.
I mean, it definitely goes with the whole media theme she’s trying to get across, but the font is very reminiscent of the one Kanye used for his Pablo merchandise. OBVIOUSLY it could just be a coincidence, but honestly, when it comes to Taylor, is anything really a coincidence?
ANOTHER thing that had fans shook was Taylor’s wardrobe choice. In the cover, Taylor is wearing a chic, but raggedy sweater that looks like it came right off the Yeezy runway. It even had one fan asking for confirmation by tweeting QUOTE, “Is Taylor not wearing what looks like a Yeezy sweater with Kim K wet hair?”
In this case, it’s the music that will tell if Tay is really shading Yay. While Swifties have their work cut out for them when it comes to these theories, others are just plain meme-ing the crap out of Taylor’s cover.
One user shared the album art and wrote QUOTE, “When you spent the marketing budget on snakes @fiverr.” While another redesigned Taylor’s cover with ‘Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time’ ‘still focused on Kanye West’ and ‘I’m a snake’ blurbs. And someone else just photoshopped a bunch of feel-good Taylor stories onto the blank space of the cover. Welp, you can’t win them all!
So what do you guys think? Is Taylor REALLY shading Kanye with her new album over or are people just trying to start something? Let me know in the comment section below. When you’re done with that, click right over here to find out WHY Kim K blocked the snake emoji from her socials.
