Lorde takes the stage to perform at this year’s VMAs and doesn’t sing a single note! Check out highlights from her performance and why she chose not to sing…
While we were initially disappointed that Lorde didn’t sing a single note at the VMA tonight, BUT it turns out the songstress had a very good reason…
Lorde frolicked and danced across the VMA stage to her song “Homemade Dynamite”, and while we’re usually all about her eclectic and contemporary moves, we were definitely confused as to why she wasn’t SINGING while dancing.
It turns out that Lorde has been suffering from a very bad case of the flu, and was unable to lend her vocals to the award show.
Lorde took to Twitter to let fans know about her unfortunate illness, sharing photos of herself on the VMAs red carpet and writing QUOTE, “you can’t tell in these pictures but i have the flu so bad i needed an IV #showgoeson #cutelilproppedupcorpse “
Well in that case we DEFINITELY need to throw Lorde some major props, because thanks to her being a trooper the show DID go on, and although we really missed her vocal talents tonight, we still thoroughly enjoyed watching her let her moves do the talking…
Okay even though it’s a bummer to not hear Lorde’s voice, it is a joy to watch her having so much fun being flown around the stage by a group of Adidas-wearing backup dancers. And it’s definitely not the kind of performance we see every day, so we also gotta give her credit for originality!
Alright guys now I wanna know what YOU thought of Lorde’s dance-centric performance! Do you think she’ll inspire other music artists to bust a move next time they’re on vocal rest? Let me hear all your thoughts and feelings in the comments below, and after that click here to check out Miley’s performance from the show. Thanks so much for watching News Feed, I’m your host Renee Shafii and I’ll see you next time!
