Miley Cyrus returned to the VMAs stage with a performance of “Younger Now.”
But this time she left the foam finger at home.
At this point, Miley Cyrus and the VMAs are like two peas in a pod. She’s twerked on that stage, hosted the show, almost had a can of whoop ass opened on her by Nicki Minaj and now she’s back to perform her new song “Younger Now” which she wrote by the way!
Katy introduced Miley as a close friend and Miley gave Katy love right back before dazzling the audience with a full blown 50s diner dance party. If you’ve seen the music video, you know that she pays homage to Elvis Presley and she kept the trend going with her performance. She kicked off the set wearing a hot pink romper with orange and rhinestone accents complete with matching shoes and glasses. The seniors from the music video joined her onstage along with some adorable kids who danced on mini motorcycles.
She ended the performance with a recreation of the the 50s diner dance scene from the video as well while adding a classic poodle skirt to her outfit, but my favorite part of the performance aside from her vocals sounding amazing, was when the camera panned to Billy Ray and Tish in the audience cheering on their baby girl.
