Demi Lovato Reveals WHO “You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore” Is About

After Demi recently admitted to being nervous for the world to hear one of her new songs – mainly because she’s afraid everyone will know who the song is about — we can’t help but wonder if her latest track was the one that she was talking about.
“You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore” is the third song off of Demi’s highly anticipated album, set to be released at the end of this month, and it’s got some pretty telling lyrics. In the track, Demi sings, “I see the future without you / The hell was I doing in the past? / Now that I’ve learnt all about you / A Love like ours just wouldn’t last.”
Aside from those powerful lyrics, you should also expect her incredible vocals to make you feel some type of way throughout the song.
Obviously, from a first listen, the song sounds like your typical break-up song when the person realizes they simply don’t need their ex anymore. HOWEVER, one fan theorized that the song might have a deeper meaning, tweeting QUOTE, “If the song is about her old self then it is literally ten times even better and more impactful.”
Not long after that, Demi came across the fan’s analysis of the song and confirmed their assumption by responding, “Well done. It is.” Kinda puts the song in a whole new light, don’tcha think?
Anyway, what do you guys think? Do you still believe the song is about an ex or are you starting to think the track is actually about her old self? Let me know in the comment section below!
