Beyonce grew up in Houston, Texas so Hurricane Harvey literally hit home for her and she’s been doing everything in her power to give back. On Friday she made a personal visit to Houston to speak with evacuees at St. John’s Church which is the same church she attended as a child. She spoke to the survivors with a full heart saying QUOTE – “This church is my home. I was maybe nine or 10 years old the first time I sat where my daughter’s sitting. I sang my first solo here. I just want to thank you for lifting my family. For praying for me. And for being such an incredible example of what life and love is.”
Beyonce attended along with her mother Tina, Blue Ivy, and fellow Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams. Tina also shared some beautiful words.
Beyonce, Tina, Blue, and Michelle also served food to the survivors which you can imagine was everything to the diehard Beyonce fans in attendance.
Tina documented the day of love on instagram and was clearly a proud mama saying QUOTE – “Beyonce Sponsored a luncheon for 400 folks some of the people affected by harvey and had a short program motivation to try to encourage them and love on them. Second stop we went to the George R Brown convention center , where we talked to some of the residents about the needs and toured the facility. Third stop we traveled to accompany one of Houston’s Best real life Heroes Trae That Truth to serve food to the residents of this complex!”
Beyonce also has a Harvey relief fund on her website if you’re looking for somewhere to donate.
