“The old Taylor is dead” phrase now has more meaning than ever before, seeing that Zombie Taylor is alive and well… well, sorta…
We thought we saw it all, the day Taylor Swift dropped her shocking “Look What You Made Me Do” music video, but what went down behind the camera was far more captivating, but we can’t say she didn’t warn us that the old Taylor was dead.
She released an exclusive behind-the-scenes video to Buzzfeed of what really went into creating the Zombie Taylor we see at the beginning of the music video, which is ironic considering we’re watching the dead version of Taylor fully come to life. In the video, Taylor reveals what it’s really like to be a corpse for a day, and it’s not exactly what you’d expect…
No physical insecurities at all? SIGN ME UP. But the time-lapsed video kicks off by showing a mask that covers Taylor’s face to change her facial structure and cheek bones. Then airbrushed makeup is applied to her entire body, including her feet for added effects. Taylor’s eye makeup was especially detailed, as special contact lenses were applied, along with heavy smokey eye shadow.
As for the finishing touches, green moss was added to parts of her body to make it look like she’s been rotting in the trenches of the cemetery grave for quite some time, and longer creepier translucent gloves were placed on the tips of her fingernails. Yeah, anyone just get major chills? But every little detail clearly did not cease to disappoint as seen in the finished product of the video:
So whether you still can’t get enough or you’ve already maxed out the number of times that should be allowed to listen to one given song, this transformation video is worth the watch, so after you do that, I want to know all your thoughts on Taylor’s transformation, and hey, maybe even possible Halloween costume inspiration? You’re welcome in advance, but before you go, don’t forget to click right over here to see if Taylor thinks her relationship with Joe is already headed for disaster.
