David Beckham Slams Minnesota United for Gloating About Win Over His Inter Miami FC: ‘Show a Little Respect’

David Beckham is defending his team.

The Inter Miami co-owner pushed back on social media over the weekend, after Minnesota United defeated Lionel Messi’s MLS team 4-1 on Saturday, May 10.

“Show a little respect @mnufc be elegant in triumph,” Beckham, 50, wrote in the comments, after Minnesota described Inter Miami as the “Pink Phony Club.”

Beckham’s comment raised eyebrows among followers, and drew hundreds of replies.

“Y’all are feelin sassy today and I’m here for it,” one commenter wrote, while another took seeming satisfaction in Miami’s demise: “As an @orlandocitysc fan, this is absolutely hilarious.”

For Minnesota, the unexpected feedback from Beckham seemingly prompted the team to post another provocative claim at the expense of Miami.

In a separate post, the franchise’s feed shared an image of a banner that read, “History over hype, culture over cash,” with the words “hype” and “cash” highlighted in Miami-kit pink.

“Respect over everything 🩷 @mnufc” Beckham responded.

The soccer legend’s comments come amid reports of acrimony in the Beckham family.
